When it's time for new tires
- The tread is worn down. Put a penny in the groove with Lincoln's head down. If you can see the top of his head, the tire is done.
- You can see cracks, cuts or a bulge in the sidewall.
- The ride has started to shake or get loud.
Two tires or four?
If your other two are still good, a pair can be enough. The newer tires usually go on the rear so the vehicle stays steady on wet roads. Some all-wheel-drive vehicles need all four to match, so check your manual.
New or used?
Keeping the vehicle a long time or driving a lot of highway miles? New tires are usually the better buy. Need to get by for less? Take a look at our used tires.
